"We inherit from our ancestors gifts so often taken for granted. Each of us contains within this inheritance of soul. We are links between the ages, containing past and present expectations, sacred memories and future promise."

Using Our Genealogy Database

Genealogy
Finding an ancestor has never been easier with our genealogy website. To conduct research on a past relative or a specific person, follow the steps outlined below.
Make sure you have the date of birth and date of death of the person you are searching for. Also, the birthplace and death place.
The civil status office is the first place where you want to begin to search for your ancestry. The officer there will help you by going back in time with your last name. Make sure your birth certificate is with you.
Once you have obtained your past family member’s details, you may get more information about them either from the Nelson Mandela Centre or MGI Immigration Department. For African origins, Nelson Mandela Centre will be appropriate, else if from Indian origins, the MGI immigration department will help. When your research concerns the period before 1810, the National Archives which is situated at Coromandel will tremendously help researching your ancestors.
After you have obtained the necessary information, you can consult our database. We have classified the data into different categories, namely, birth, death, places, and so on.
